The house has 3 double bedrooms (king-size bed in main one) and a sofabed in the sitting-room. There is a bathroom/WC and a shower-room/WC. There is a large sitting-room/diner, with an open-plan kitchen. There is a fridge-freezer, washing-machine, dishwasher, microwave, UK and French TV, radio-CD-cassette, DVD\video, hairdryer, telephone (free to landlines in 47 countries), and broadband. It backs onto the Rue Bas Castelet - the prettiest street in old Antibes.

Area Description:

Vieil Antibes is a lovely old town, about 10 miles from Nice and Cannes on the French Riviera -full of street life (cafes, restaurants, markets, little shops) and museums, with a wonderful daily Provencal food market (about 250 yards away) and right on the sea. There are over 500 restaurants.

The sea is about 100 yards away (view from the ramparts). The beaches (both a little town beach, and touristy sandy beaches) are about 400 yards away. The Musee Grimaldi (Picasso Museum) is just off the market - 250 yards away - (currently shut for refurbishment), and the cathedral is there too. There are lots of other museums.

Area Activities

The house is in what is called 'La Commune Libre du Safranier', with the 'mairie' (town hall) in the square. The elected mayor - Zeze - and his team organise community events/festivals regularly - often in the square where the house is. There is a restaurant next door with a daily menu at 14€, local cuisine, fish, a terrace in the square, and nice people. To quote from a tourist site: 'Narrow alley-streets, shutters, hanging laundry, and a riot of flowering vines make this neighbourhood off Antibes's Old Town picture-book pretty'
