In the heart of the lavender fields of Provence - 4 minutes’ drive from the village of Valensole and not far from the spectacular Gorges of Verdon - an original historic “Logisson” of natural stone dating from 1660 has been authentically restored and adapted to provide a selection of outstanding holiday homes offering flexible accommodation for 2 to 8 people. The farmhouse apartments are in a historic but fully restored property - part of the large estate of the feudal Lords of Brunet for over 3 centuries – extended by the Marquess of Tressemanes and subsequent owners so not just a farmhouse – more a gentleman’s country residence. On offer - complete peace, the purest air in Europe and 300 days of sunshine a year. In the summer months guests can enjoy the splendid swimming pool and all year the spacious parkland grounds of 5 hectares of olive trees, cypresses and an abundance of flowers in season. Short breaks – minimum of two nights – are possible throughout the year – subject to availability – guests are welcome all year round. There are three general sizes of property but all are totally individual in terms of size, decor and furnishings. "Le Grand" farmhouse apartments are ideal for families or larger parties sharing sleeping up to 8 guests in three bedrooms plus a bed settee – for smaller parties "Le Moyen" cottages and farmhouse apartments sleep up to 6 guests and forr couples only the cosy "Le Studio" apartments sleep two. The "Le Grand" properties extend to approximately 115m2 of very spacious and luxury accommodation as large as a small villa. Included as standard there are French-channel colour televisions, washing machines and dishwashers and with supplement – telephone, internet and satellite television. All have access to an outside dining area and some apartments also have a private terrace.

Area Description:

Valensole is situated in the middle of a magnificent plateau of lavender and almond trees and is true to its name as Valensole derives from the latin "vallis" and "solis" meaning the valley of sun. The village has a population of around 2500 with local shops and two restaurants – totally unspoilt and a pleasure to stroll through the narrow streets of the old village. The countryside around is beautiful too - especially in the spring when the almond trees are in bloom or in summer when aromas of lavender and thym fill the air - not surprising as Valensole is one of the most important producers of lavender in Provence. The deep cliffs of the Gorges du Verdon are a short drive to the east - unique in the whole of Europe and one of the greatest tourist attractions in Provence. This is an area of spectacular natural beauty. in the middle of a nature reserve - Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon - officially inaugurated in March 1997. It includes 43 villages of the two departments of the Var and Alpes de Hautes Provence and spreads out over nearly 178,000 hectares - rich in flora and fauna – with astonishing scenery. It was a relatively undiscovered world until fairly recent times - not really discovered until the beginning of the 20th century.
Deep in the gorges the river Verdon is accessible by canoe which can be hired locally. The river feeds four lakes - Lac d’Esparron de Verdon, Lac de Quinson, Lac de Sainte Croix and Lac de Castillon – and the tranquil waters of these lakes are perfect for family water sports – canoeing, sailing, pedalos, wind-surfing, and swimming
