Single-storey cottage attached to the French owners’ villa but – other than the shared entrance drive – offering totally independent accommodation, several private terraces and the exlusive and unlimited use of the private swimming pool. The property is situated on the outskirts of Rochefort du Gard – an historic unspoilt village dating from the 10th century - 12 km from Avignon. The property is compact but well-equipped – including dishwasher, washing machine, television, hifi and dvd player - ideal for an away from it all holiday for a small family or couple with the particular benefit of a private swimming pool. The French owners give a warm welcome but are totally unobtrusive and normally are away during working days as both work. The gardens are delightful – full of flowers, a lawned area with automatic irrigation and plenty of shade. The swimming pool is 8m x 4m with a depth of 1.6m with access by Roman steps and is enclosed by professional security fencing for children’s safety. There is also a children’s play area with swings, slide and a boules court and a clothes’ drying area and iron and ironing board. Guests have the choice of several terraces for different times of the day – and there are sun loungers, outside dining furniture and a barbecue.Designated parking position within electric entrance gates. Bed linen is included. Obligatory final cleaning charge 40 euros -payable locally.

Rochefort du Gard has a population of over 6000 with everyday local shops, restaurant and a wine co-operative. It is an ideal base to explore this historic region and in addition to Avignon lots of other notable places of interest such as Nimes, Saint Remy de Provence, Arles and the Camargue - all within a short drive away.
