Property Description:

Entirely redone during the first six months of 2004, the place is in a late-18th century building with a great feeling of space and light. The apartment has herringbone parquet floors, French windows, and wrought iron balustrades. With tasteful antiques and oriental area rugs, this apartment has a very Parisian feel. At the same time, all modern amenities:
nrand-new flat-screen LCD TV, DVD, CD, with four-speaker: home theater type sound...really nice system. Noos cable, high-speed internet installed (bring your own laptop).

This is a one-two bedroom, 76 sq cm place, on high floor fronting on the rue Roi de Sicilie. Off the entry way is a "double-sejour"-- two rooms separated by French mirrored doors. The first room has the antique dining table, comfortable seating and a wall of exposed beams. The second room is another living room with a sofa opening to a comfortable double bed and additional seating. This room can be entirely closed off thus serving as a private second bedroom. Each room has a marble fireplace with classic gold-framed mirror above. The queen bedroom is off the entry hall and across from the separate toilet and sink. The bathroom has a bathtub, shower over, and sink.

I would like to say: this is NOT a for-rental rehab..we did it as tastefully as we could as this was/is to be our own place.


We have furnished almost entirely with antiques, including two 19th century brass chandeliers, 18th century recommier, fauteuils, oriental carpets, oil paintings, antique nearly everything except the lighting fixtures which we wanted to be modern, as a contrast. Oh, forgot, we have two brand-new upholstered sitting chairs at the dining room table (sent from the US!). Walls are various shades of white, including ceiling border.


The kitchen is fully renovated with built-in cupboards and new appliances. It is decorated in white with accents of forest green and crimson, and has a table with seating for 2. A window offers natural light and ventilation.


Bathroom features a comfortable large soaking tub, with integrated shower. A lavage/sechage appliance is also in the bathroom. WC is separate.


Bedroom: queen American-size bed, beautiful linens, full-size Victorian stand-up mirror, silk curtains, built-in bookcase, plenty of closets (built-in as well), phone.


Located on the 4th floor but the landings are not as long as some 19th century places. No lift.

Area Description:

Location: Notre Dame about a 10 minute walk (along a passage through a monastery). We are one block from rue, Vielle du Temple and...all that...and three or four blocks from one of our favorite "places du calm" in Paris: Place Marche de St. Catherine.
