Property Description:

Lieu Delice (Pleasant Place) is a charming village home in the medieval village of Roquebrun, available for weekly rental (or longer). It is located in the center of the village on a quaint, narrow, cobble stone street, with parking nearby. Although it is hundreds of years old, it has been totally renovated.

On the ground floor there is a hallway with a room on the right with closet, washing machine, shower, and a separate WC. The hallway leads on to the kitchen (with stove, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and all the necessary utensils) on the left, and the living /dining room on the right. The comfortable sitting area has a lovely, large fireplace, plus a TV and VCR. The dining area seats six. There are French doors from the sitting area out to a balcony which overlooks vineyards, olive groves, gardens, and the beautiful hills. Upstairs are the three bedrooms: one with a double bed and two with twins. There is also a very modern bath with skylight.

Area Description:

Discover the "undiscovered" south of France, Languedoc, on the Mediterranean, between Provence and Spain. Roquebrun, known as the "Little Nice," is located in the department of Herault, in the region of Languedoc. It is a very picturesque village (pop. 550) in Haut Languedoc Natural Park and is renowned for its own “micro-climate,” warmer winters, and its Mimosa festival in January. Something seems to be in bloom year round.
There are two excellent restaurants in Roquebrun: the Auberge St. Hubert and the Petit Nice. There is also a local cafe, a convenience store, and a bakery.
Conveniently located, many interesting destinations are appropriate for day trips: the cities of Nimes, with its Roman coliseum, Montpellier, Beziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, and the walled city of Carcassonne; the magnificent Pont du Gard, the imposing Gorges du Tarn, the Cirque Navacelles, the Canal du Midi, the Cathar village of Minerve, important Roman and medieval sites, etc. The border with Spain is less than two hours away, and Barcelona is about three and a half. The area can be reached by plane into Montpellier or Toulouse and by train (the super fast TGV) into Beziers.

Area Activities

Roquebrun overlooks the splendid Orb valley, with its river winding through woods and vineyards. Swimming and fishing are available in the River Orb (a five minute walk). Breath taking scenery is all around you and ready to be explored by foot, bicycle, canoe, or kayak. Mediterranean beaches are only forty-five minutes away.

Many Roman and medieval sites to be visited!
