Area Description:

Delightfully situated in Languedoc Roussillon midway between Perpignan and the Spanish border, St Cyprien is one of the best kept secrets of Southern France.

With miles of clean, safe, sandy beaches, all manner of amenities and attractions, and enjoying over 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s a holiday location which satisfies both those in search of lots to do and those who just want to relax.
Just around the corner…

Within 3 minutes walk (really!), there is a small but buzzing little shopping centre which from April through to mid October offers the following:

·Good convenience store
·2 Bakers & Patisseries
·Fish Shop (wet and cooked)
·Butcher and cooked meats
·2 Greengrocers
·2 Pizza Places (inc take-away)
·2 good restaurants
·Brasserie and coffee shop
·Newsagent and adjacent post box
·(Hopefully unnecessary!) Doctor's surgery

Out of season the butcher, baker, fishmonger greengrocery (with wine) open daily 08.00-12.30.

Year round and just five minutes by car, the port offers shops, boutiques, restaurants, etc in plenty. On foot it’s a pleasant and easy twenty minute appetiser! A few minutes stroll in the opposite direction, the four star Hotel Ile de La Lagune and Restaurant L’Almandin provide gastronomy and wines for those who want to spoil themselves.

Area Activities

If relaxing poolside or on the beach (5 minutes drive) is just not your style, within easy reach you will find:

·Scuba diving, surfing, sailboarding, water skiing, and just about everything else you can do in or on the sea is available in abundance
·Tennis, Squash and Badminton courts at La Grande Stade are within five minutes walk. There is also a fitness centre.
·Attractions such as Sigean African Reserve and Aqualand – a water world for children of all age
·Golf at Golf de St Cyprien (including a restaurant)
·Riding which can be either four-legged at the local equestrian centres or two-wheeled at bike hire locations

If you can ignore the lure of the beach and boat life, within two hours drive you have: Collioure (20mins) – a delightful medieval port, town and castle; Gerona (80mins) a bustling but ancient Spanish city; Carcassone’s (75mins) castellated splendour; Barcelona (150mins) Spain’s second city; Andorra & The Pyrenees (150mins). Once home to Picasso, Ceret is also well worth a visit (30mins). For those without a car there is also plenty to do and places to go. The local bus and trains are frequent in mid and high season. Bike riding is easy locally because it’s level (until you get to the Pyrenees!) There is a water taxi service three minutes walk away which, in season, goes directly to the port offering a range of shopping, dining and people-watching opportunities. Enjoy!!

St Cyprien International Golf Course is one of the best in France and attracts golfers from all over the world. Outside high season we offer a special golfers four day break as a long weekend or mid-week break at 40% reduction from the weekly tariff for the time of year.
