Property Description:

Fontaine is a typical village house from the Languedoc region. Located in a cul-de-sac within the original fortified village, it is quiet and private. The entrance is via a private lane. A flight of stairs will guide you to the terrace where there is a small terrace garden, table and chairs.The entrance to the first level of the house is located here. One side of the terrace is the entrance to the main living area and on the other side is a separate room with a double sofa bed, fireplace and small balcony with district views. The main living area is open plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher,microwave, fridge, stove/oven and a slow combustion fire place. All cutlery, dishes, cups, glasses etc. are provided.The lounge area has a Home Movie surround sound,TV and DVD,(CD's,Tuner, DVD's). The double sofa bed will comfortably sleep 2 people. The bathroom with full bath, separate shower, 2 separate toilets and laundry are located downstairs. Upstairs to the top level are 2 bedrooms. The main has a queen size bed and built-in wardrobe and plenty of storage space.There is also a mezzanine floor here for extra sleeping accommodation or storage if required.The Vilux window in the ceiling will have you sleeping with the stars or welcoming the sun if you choose to have it open.
The other bedroom also has a Vilux to the stars,a double bed,a single bed and a spare roll out single bed.
The property has old French charm, character and style with modern amenities and art by Australian artist Kerri Ann Healy on many of the walls.

Area Description:

Peret is located at the foot of the Cevennes Hills. Surrounded by vineyards it overlooks the Valley of Herault. A short bike ride, walk or drive takes you to neighboring villages such as Cabrieres,which hosts 2 wine cellars and a natural mountain water source where people que to get their fresh water supply. Fontes, Lieuran and many others are close by, all offering individual charm. A little further you will reach Pezenas, the town of Moliere.This is a must to visit with it's Medieval festivals, incredible architecture, theartre,art,cafes and weekly market.The closest large village is Clermont l'Herault where all amenities can be found, a shopping center, chemists, boutiques,banks.. and so on.The weekly Wednesday market is a must to visit with it's colourful array of local and worldly goods as well as fabulous French fare to tempt any taste bud.
There are many sites to be visited within a short drive, Saint Guillem le Desert, Le Cirque de Moureze, Villeneuvette, Le Lac Salagou, Le pont du Diable and many others. There are many great areas for picnics and swimming and a stroll up in the hills behind the villages will give you the real feel of South West France blessed with the sent of wild thyme, rosemary and mint. Oh by the way.... what you can hear is the Cicada's concert.

There are many activities available, for the sport minded as well as the amateur.The canoe rafting on the river Herault is a great place to start or bathe in the River Canet and feel the revitalising effect of the French river clay that the regulars and the visitors spread on their bodies by the riverbank. Canoeing, fishing, golfing, swimming, skiing, sight seeing.... there is something for everyone in this sensational region of France.
The Grottes de la Clamouse, Le Cirque de Moureze, St Guillem le Desert are only a few of the numerous amazing sites to visit. The beaches of the Mediteranee are close by and all water sports are available at Marsellian Plage and Cap D'agde.
Sete, Montpellier, Beziers all offer their specialities and charm and are all a must to see.
