Property Description:

Built with the stones of a previous castle, "la Maison des remparts" is located on the very top of the hill and of a small "vigneron" village. Therefore the view is always clear, and the property always remote and quiet. Each of the two apartments has its own terrace along with the garden, and a specific view. It's also possible to enjoy the upper terrace on the top of the land, embracing the Mediterranean from Sete to Collioure. Four kilometers from the busy coast, la Maison des Remparts is the comfortable place where to contemplate wild nature, and stare at the stars, knowing civilisation is near by. This mix of nature and culture, that some go get very far, makes Treilles and the villages around a very unique place on the sunny "Golfe du Lion" coast.

Area Description:

A few minutes from the sea, midway from Narbonne and Perpignan, but also very next to historical locations such as the "Chateaux cathares", the Fontfroide and Lagrasse Abbeys or Carcassonne, Treilles is opening the road to interior Corbieres where every village is an opportunity to discover traditionnal events and architecture, wines, exhibitions, concerts and museums...
The particularity of the area is based on this link between land and water. All along the coast, between the sea shore and the first hills, many lakes create a lagoon stripe where birds live and migrate, like flamingoes and herons. This mix of sandy sea-shore, lakes of all sizes, hills and vineyards under the major Canigou summit of the Pyrenees makes this area very attractive and unique.

Area Activities

Within Treilles, one can play tennis, walk in the "garrigue" among the sents of the plants but the beach is offering the most developed spot for any "wind" activity: kite, windsurf, kitesurf, "char à voile", etc... Each year, on april, a worldwide contest, "le Mondial du vent" is happening at La Franqui, a very large and long beach of sand, where you can also ride horses. But it's also possible to simply enjoy sea and sun, eventually on nudist parts of the beach.
If you get tired of physical activities, a short drive will take you to markets, shopping, cinemas, galleries, museums, festivals, artisanal events or (pre)historical spots around Perpignan, Narbonne, Carcassonne, and even in Spain -Dali's museum in Figueras or Cadaques, for example.
