Property Description:

Pech Luna is a village of 87 souls 1,000 ft up into the rolling hills of the Languedoc-Roussillon in South West France. It has a church, a Mairie, a school, and very little else beyond an air of calm and tranquillity.

One and a half kilometres away, a fifteen minute walk, is Le Domaine de Loustalviel, a cluster of three sensitively renovated farm buildings, set in a couple of hectares of gardens and meadows that slope down to the tiny brook at the border of our land.

The three stone-built houses have all been luxuriously restored and this one, LoustalBeau, offers:

* A large, comfortable sitting and dining area;

* Airy bedrooms, with en-suite wc and bath or shower;

Area Description:

This is a very little known, but very beautiful corner of France. Rolling hills sweep up to the Pyrenees (spectacularly visible from the domaine) with their wonderful scenery and magnificent walking for all ages, and all levels of fitness and competence. We are surrounded by farmland, but only a few miles to the East are the vineyards of the Malepere and Limoux. Ancient towns and cities, and pre-historic cave settlements are within a short drive, including the fairy-tale fortified city of Carcassonne and the gloriously picturesque town of Mirepoix, with its shops nestling under medieval galeries, and its wonderful weekly market.

Area Activities

Some of the best food in France hides within very few miles of our Domaine, with the superb local foie gras in abundance. When you need to work off the gastronomic excesses, you can go walking in the Pyrenees, sailing, windsurfing, horse riding or riding bikes along the tree-lined Canal du Midi. And there is go-karting and quad-biking within a half-hour's drive. And three golf courses within easy reach, one of which, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, never fails to get rave reviews. Then there's the shopping in Toulouse, Mirepoix, Castelnaudary and Carcassonne, and the host of local markets. But the Domaine itself is so beautiful, and the variety of its 7 acres so tempting, you may not manage to do half the things you were planning on. You'll just have to come back next year!
