The 18th century Chateau d’Artix is a prestigious property set in a peaceful and secluded country location, yet just 1.5 kms from Cahors - arguably the Lot region’s most attractive city.

The house was originally restored to the highest standards by the President of the Monuments de France and the spacious rooms provide light and comfortable accommodation, whilst retaining many original features. This truely is the holiday choice for the discerning customer.

The Chateau is approached from a small country lane on the southern side of Cahors, and as you near the property you can see the grandeur of the facade with it's own fountain in the courtyard.

The main floor of the Chateau is reached from the double flight of steps which lead to the front terrace. A charming entrance halls with original tiled floors leads to a comfortable lounge with a dining area and conservatory. Also on this floor are the vast formal dining room, large, fully equipped kitchen with a gas range cooker and a pantry and a separate w.c. The first floor houses the master double bedroom with fireplace and en suite bathroom/separate w.c., a double bedroom with fireplace and en suite shower room (no w.c.) and an extra sofa bed. There are 2 further double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a separate w.c. The lower ground floor has a double bedroom with an interior window, a bathroom with shower and a separate w.c. There is also a lounge with a sofa bed, if you need another bedroom or you can just use the room as a play room.

Outside the large pool is bordered by lawned gardens extending into woodland, through which you can wander down to the banks of the Lot river. Or why not just enjoy the country air and al fresco BBQ dinners on the large terrace which adjoins the kitchen.

Next door are the original stables or "L'Ecurie", which have been fully refurbished to provide further luxurious accommodation and the 2 houses may be booked together to sleep 18 adults and 6 children in total.
