Property Description:

A warm welcome awaits you at Faysselle. Set in 12 acres of idyllic, peaceful countryside, and with no passing traffic, this is the ideal location for couples, families or groups to spend a relaxing holiday, yet with plenty to do for all ages in the local area.

The swimming pool is the centre of most people's holiday and ours has the added advantage of a mini-pool for younger children with a waterfall into the main pool. Large terraces surround the pool and there are plenty of sun loungers for all guests. The area is a blaze of colour during the summer with numerous geraniums surrounding the terraces.

Guests are welcome to explore the property with its woodland, meadow, pond and stream. In early summer the field is a breathtaking mass of wild flowers with several species of orchid. Bird lovers should remember to bring their binoculars!

Grand Soleil is the largest of our three gites, sleeping 6 people in one double, and two twin rooms. A further bed is available if required. There is a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer and washing machine, and a living/dining room with satellite TV and DVD. There is a large terrace with barbecue and outdoor furniture.

The gite is next to the pool and is ideal for parents who want to be able to watch over their children!

Area Description:

Faysselle is in the beautiful unspoiled region of Lot-et-Garonne in South West France, about 12 miles east of Agen, and 60 miles north west of Toulouse. Rolling hills covered in fruit blossom in the springtime turn to gold in the summer with acres of sunflowers. The climate is delightful with early springs, long hot summers and mild autumns.

This is an ideal location from which to explore the ‘bastide’ villages, steeped in the history of the Hundred Years war. Village squares, almost unchanged through the centuries, are an ideal resting spot for a coffee or pastis, before ambling through the markets with their tempting displays of fruit, vegetables, cheese and local produce – the area is particularly famous for its prunes, duck and foie gras.

Area Activities

Tennis, golf and horse-riding are within easy reach and there are a number of ‘leisure lakes’ close by with lakes and ‘beaches’ and watersports are available on the rivers Lot and Garonne. The Parc Walibi theme park in Agen is a fun day out for all the family. Other trips could include Moissac with its cathedral and splendid cloisters, Cahors and the beautiful village of St Cirq Lapopie, or a tour of Bordeaux’ many vineyards. There is a good village shop in St Maurin, three miles away. The closest hypermarket is twelve miles away, south of Agen.
