Property Description:

The gite is adjoined to the owners house in grounds of some five acres, and is very safe and tranquil being situated at the end of a private road.

Having its own private garden overlooking the valley the gite is perfect for dining and relaxing outside on those long hot summer days and nights, and also for cosy evenings during the few winter months.

The gite has two double size bedrooms, one being furnished with a double bed, and having magnificent views across the valley from the large balcony, ideal for those early morning breakfasts alfresco. The other bedroom has bunks and a double bed and also benefits from the outstanding views. On the same floor are the separate toilet and bathroom with stairs leading down to the lounge with many original features including the beautiful exposed stone walls and wooden beams. The lounge is comfortably furnished and also has the benefit of having a sofa-bed should it be needed. In the newly fitted kitchen, equipped with washing machine, microwave, cooker, fridge, etc, there is a large family dining table which may come in handy for the larger get-togethers.

Belle Buges is available all year round on short or long lets and is ideally situated for ease of access from numerous airports. With several budget airlines now offering flights into the more remote airports, Belle Buges is also easily accessible for the long weekend, subject to availability. From the UK Ryanair offers flights from Stansted airport to Limoges, Rodez, Bergerac, Bordeaux etc and Flybe.com offers flights from Birmingham to Toulouse.

Area Description:

There are many beautiful villages and chateaux to visit in the area as well as the attractions of La Roque St-Christophe, Grottes du Roc de Cazelle, Rocamadour, the caves of Lascaux and Chateau de Castlenaud.

The nearby village of Lissac boasts a superb lake (7.2 kilometres in circumference) and is very popular for watersports, cycling, fishing and walking. It has the benefit of having two well equipped showers and children's play area, and well shaded beaches, which are kept immaculately clean and offer safe and supervised swimming areas for the children

Area Activities

Belle Buges offers the perfect setting for exploring the Dordogne and Correze departments with their local markets and antique fairs and sampling the local specialities of frois gras and walnut wine.

The property is also suited to individuals or groups looking for a base to spend time training for cycling, swimming or triathlon. With Lac du Causse being just 6, very scenic, kilometres away from the gite it is easily accessible and is the location for the local annual June triathlon. Out of season it offers very quiet and almost private facilities. The lake itself has a very well constructed path around the circumference, which is some 7.2 km in length, and provides some memorable early morning views.

The beaches are well equipped with outdoor showers (although cold all year round) and picnic tables for those well earned snacks or the end of day BBQ.
For the cyclist the region offers some outstanding rides over undulating terrain, either well away from the towns and traffic or via some very interesting and pretty villages. There are also plenty of cross-country, multi-surface routes through the forests for both the cyclist and the runner.
