Property Description:

Today ’Chez Maison’ retains many original features, but also boasts modern luxuries.
The ground floor is open-plan by design, with a large oak-beamed, lounge, dinning and kitchen area. The lounge is equipped with satellite T.V, DVD and comfortable seating, while the dinning area is simple with pine table and chairs. The modern theme is carried into the kitchen, which is fully fitted and equipped with, large cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
There are 3 separate bathrooms, each equipped to a high standard, the main bathroom has a double sink, and vanity unit and a separate hand sink by the toilet. The second bathroom is again a full shower room/ toilet and situated downstairs (ideal after a dip in the pool). The third bathroom is attached to the ensuite bedroom and has shower and hand basin. Hand towels and bathmats are provided as standard in all bathrooms. The house has 4 bedrooms, sleeps a maximum of 6 people
1 double, 1 twin, 2 singles, 1 cot, Air Circulation fans are provide in all bedrooms, Each bedroom has ample hanging and wardrobe space and there is a separate room upstairs for luggage, cases etc, no need to have them in your bedroom.
One of the most attractive features of ‘Chez Maison’, is the large private courtyard, with Russian Vine draping the original stone walls and pergola. Within this courtyard is the HEATED swimming pool, dinning area and BBQ all providing for sumptuous luxury at all times

The above rental rates are for 4-6 people we do offer many discounts, for 2 people, for 2 consecutive weeks and for early booking please email for full details. Changover day is normally a Saturday but this is negotiable.

Rental rates are all inclusive of, gas, electricity, all bed linen and towels (including pool towels). There is also an arrival pack for guests which includes tea, coffee, biscuits, water, wine etc. There is a small surcharge for wood and for heating the pool during the off season ( cooler ) periods if required, again please e mail for full details

Area Description:

Chez Maison is situated in a small hamlet, with quiet and peaceful surroundings. The local area is ideal for relaxing, walking and sunbathing. Nearby you have the village of Villeneuve ( 3 km ) which has a boulangerie and excellent restaurant for lunch and evening meals.

The town of Duras is only 9 km away and has shops, restaurants, bars and large market every Monday, plus the imposing medieval chateau looking over the many vineyards situated in the surrounding valley.

The property is ideally situated for all wine lovers, nestling in the heart of the Duras Wine region and only 15 min drive from the excellent vineyards of the renowned AOC Bergerac wines, and 50min north to the St emillion vine yards, not to mention the beautiful drive to the Bordeaux region. The local area offers an enormous variety of vineyards from small to large most with tasting available on the property

Chateau Monbazillac is yet another local attraction offering its world renowned sweet white wines, a must for any wine tour in this area.

Ther are many superb annual wine fairs, festivals and events, such as Bastille day, Table de Cyrano, Duras and Sigoules wine fairs and numerous others, if you wish your holiday to coincide with one we will be happy to provide dates and information.


“Chez Maison” as the above sugests provides modern living within ancient walls. The house has been renovated many times over the years but has retained many of its original features. Originally used as a Monastery in the 12th century it has now been lovingly restored to provide spacious family accommodation for 6 people, the large oak beamed ceiling provides the perfect backdrop for the modern fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, 4 bedrooms (1 with en suite shower) 2 WC’s and 2 shower rooms. Outside there is a beautiful large private courtyard with HEATED POOL, BBQ and dining facilities and to the front of the house, across a small 'chemin rural' (acess road), is a large garden with pergola, eating and sunbathing area.

Area Activities

Other attractions include,

- Duras, the nearest town to "Chez Maison" provides many amenities, a Monday market and many restaurants and bars.

- St Foy le Grande which has many shops bars and restaurants and a large Saturday market ( 20 km’s)

- Eymet Marmande and Bergerac are within a 30 Kil radius and all provide shops cafes, restaurants, markets and many other tourist attractions, such as museums, and boat trips.

- Base de Loisir is within 10 kms. This is a superbleisure lake with a sandy beach, water slides, canoes, pedalos, picnic tables, a bar, fishing, swimming, and tennis, an ideal place for all ages.

- During July and August Eymet boasts a very popular night market recently featured on the channel 4 series ‘No going back’. Many other night markets also take place during the summer months.

- Further along the Dordogne river, are the world famous caves of Les Eyzes, historic villages of Roque Gageac, Baynac and Domme.
