Property Description:

La Cachette is a newly refurbished detached sunny house on the edge of the quiet village of Grolejac. Within 200 metres of the house is a bakers, chacuterie (butchers/delicatessen), pizzeria, hotel, small supermarket, a garage with bikes to hire and a hairdressers! At the other end of the village is a lake with a small beach and an excellent restaurant.

The accommodation comprises of two comfortably furnished bedrooms (one double, one twin); a large lounge/dining area with seating for six, and well equipped kitchen including microwave, cooker, fridge/freezer; shower room; wc and garage (with washing machine). Satellite tv, a DVD/VCR and CD players – several popular films provided. There is a sofa bed in the lounge if needed for additional guests.

The property enjoys a large private garden with a stream at the rear and a terraced area at the front. Ideal for relaxing, eating al fresco or playing with the children. Garden furniture, loungers and barbeque are provided.

La Cachette is available all year round for short and long term lets. Budget airlines flying to Bergerac or Limoges make the property easily accessible for a long weekend.

Area Description:

Grolejac is a charming village situated in the picturesque countryside between Sarlat and Gourdon on the south bank of the Dordogne. Sarlat is a beautiful medieval town with many restaurants and street cafes and it offers a wide variety of shops. Typical French markets are held there twice a week.

Within a short driving distance from the house is the captivating bastide town of Domme which stands on a towering hill overlooking the Dordogne. A little further in the same direction is La Roque-Gageac with honey coloured houses huddled against the cliff and its pretty river frontage it is reputed to be the prettiest village in France. In the opposite direction is the medieval village of Racamadour clinging to the sheer cliff over a gorge it is a breathtaking place to visit.

Area Activities

The tranquil Dordogne river offers the opportunity to canoe, swim and fish. There is a canoe hire centre within walking distance of the house. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. Horseriding and golf are available nearby. A 15 minute car drive will take you to an activities centre, suitable for both adults and children.

With its many leisure and sporting activities, castles, churches, pretty villages, produce and craft markets and its cultural heritage the Dordogne has something to offer every visitor.
