Property Description:

A well situated house with a separate apartment, having a kitchen/dining area, double bed area with en-suiite, separate WC, a lounge area. Access to the garden, south side, and a laundry room with stairs connecting to the upper level

The upper level has a spacious lounge with french doors to the west facing balcony and is comfortably furnished.
The well fitted kitchen has french doors to the balcony for alfresco dining, alternately there is a separate breakfast/dining room overlooking the pool
The west facing twin bedroom has access to the balcony, while the east double bedroom leads into a large conservatory/breakfast room.

Area Description:

Maison Tranquille is part of the small hamlet Mercadiol, and is on the D61 route driving out of St. Julien De Lampon, the house is opposite our close nieghbour Chateau Fenelon, and is situated approximately the centre of a triangle formed by three major towns. Gourdon is the closest, popular for its cafe bars, Sarlat is renowned for its medieval and renaissance architecture and huge market,(Wed.and Sat.),Souillac for good supermarkets and market (Fri.), also easy access to the A.20 motorway and a good start to canoe the river back to St. Julien. There are restaurants nearby in Masclat, Lamonthe Fenelon, Grolejac, St. Julien and Rouffillac to name a few.

Area Activities

Sightseeing should include, Rocamadour, originally a famous centre of pilgrimage, whose location seems to defy gravity. Domme perched high on a rocky bluff, a Bastide town, with magnificant views of the Dordogne valley, and La Roque Gageac, possibly one of France's prettiest villages where it is possible to take a boat trip along the river.
For the more active/adventurous there is canoeing, riding, fishing, golf, paint balling, adventure playground, caves, cycling and tennis etc.
The nearest tourist information office being Rouffillac, just over the river bridge at St. Julien.
