Property Description:
This is a lovely house within 2 acres of enclosed grounds, which include an orchard, courtyard, pigeonnier, and 10 x 5m swimming pool. One of it's strongest features are the large light rooms which have recently been refurbished. The house is also situated amongst the vineyards near Cognac.The surroundings are peaceful, although the house is located in a small hamlet with other homes, the mature landscaping and gates make you seem like you are far from it all.
Le Logis has large windows, a modern kitchen with wide window to the courtyard, and every room is simply furnished with antiques - making this a dream getaway.
Enter the grounds through a large passage that will make you think of your childhood dreams of living in a castle. There is plenty of room for parking. The entrace to the house takes you to an informal dining area and then to the kitchen with it's large island area in the center.
Also on the ground floor are the formal dining area and the salon- the two being joined by a pass through fireplace. Very chic draperies separate the two spaces. The whole house is furnished in creams and whites for the ultimate sense of relaxation. At the far end (near the pool) of the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms- one twin and one double. There is a washroom and WC shared between the two rooms. The shower/baths are on the 1st floor.
Choose one of 2 wooden staircases to lead you to the 1st floor where there are a further 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. This floor has been partially renovated by the current owners - you will notice a few details that have yet to be retouched by their obvious good taste and style. The room here also boast high ceilings and big windows so you can let a bit of the French Sun shine in!
We are convinced that you will spend most of your time in the large grounds surrounding the house. The pool is 10X5 Meters and will be enclosed by 2004. It is currently surrounded by a low wall. The pool is outfitted with sun loungers for enjoying the weather.
The inner courtyard has tables for 10 as well as a large sun umbrella for a break in the shade. Small children will enjoy playing in the adjacent grassy orchard, where they can be easily supervised and are separated from the pool area.
On the other side of the house, there is a large, open Grange area as well as a large terrace and some informal gardens. This area is shaded by a large row of trees- perfect for a drink out.
The end of the house and surrounding the pool terraces is a large meadow. It is entirely fenced for privacy and safety, though children should not be allowed here unsupervised as it is inside the enclosure for the pool.
Area Description:
The area surrounding Le Logis is vineyards and farmland. The rolling hills are just at the edge of the Cognac producing area. Make sure you try the local Pineau and take a visit to the Cognac makers nearby.
